On 17 May 2024 we will be celebrating the FloWave Ocean Energy Research Facility's tenth birthday, marking the point in 2014 when we moved from commissioning to commerical testing. Since then, FloWave has been at the forefront of ocean energy research, from the fundamental principles of fluid dynamics to the intricate pre-deployment assessments of wave and tidal energy devices.
We will be marking the occassion with a seminar session, held in the Nucleus building on the Kings Buildings campus, with speakers from academia and industry followed by a reception at FloWave. As the first circular combined wave and current facility in the world, we will reflect on our groundbreaking research impact and offer insights into the future of the marine energy sector.
Please share this opportunity with your networks and sign up for a ticket. We can promise you an interesting afternoon and a visit to a unique, world leading, facility.
Our seminar will feature a diverse lineup of speakers including leading academics, pioneering technology developers, researchers, and the students who are the future of ocean energy. Each will share insights into their work, highlighting how FloWave's unique capabilities have been instrumental in their discoveries. Following this there is an opportunity to join the team for a demonstration and reception at the FloWave facility.
